Sindelar sad to see another DSGO go

He may not have won a professional event at En-Joie since 1987, but Joey Sindelar loves coming back to Endicott year after year to compete in front of his hometown fans. The Horseheads native capped off his Dick's Sporting Goods Open weekend with a 30-foot birdie on 18 to go 4-under for the tournament. While that was 10 shots behind Jeff Maggert's championship performance, the cheer for Sindelar were just as loud.

If there's anyone that's sad to see the sun set on another Dikc's Sporting Goods Open, it's Joey Sindelar.

"Yea, hard to believe it's gone again for another year," he said. "Great weather week. I heard the concert was awesome, I didn't go. But, the guys love coming here, of course I love coming here. The course has just been beautiful. I'm sad it's gone, but we'll all come roaring back next year."

When asked if we can expect him back next year, he responded simply, "wouldn't miss it."

The 2016 DSGO will be held July 8-10 to accommodate the Summer Olympics in Rio.
