BU begins fall semester with Rec Fest

Binghamton University students are getting their fitness on before classes begin. Hundreds gathered at BU's Rec Fest Sunday.

Kickball and bubble soccer were played on the university's brand new turf field which was just unveiled on Sunday. Others bounced through an inflatable obstacle course and some enjoyed a game of disc golf.

"It just helps to find something to do. Some students, especially Freshman when they first start out, don't have an understanding of how much is really available. They just think it's going to class and getting homework done, but there's so much to do. It gives them a chance to get out and be active in a completely different way," said
BU Senior Anthony Aprile.

BU classes officially begin Monday morning.
