University Fest welcomes BU students back

The Peace Quad at Binghamton University was not very peaceful Saturday afternoon because it was filled with thousands of students and community members for the 22nd Annual University Fest. Vendor booths, carnival rides, extreme inflatables, student organizations and food tents lined the field in an effort to welcome students back to Binghamton.

"My first weekend at college, I just remember there being lots of events and that made me feel like part of the community and made me know that there are things to do," said Jennifer Keegin, Associate Director of Campus Activities. "So, as the person who plans these events now, I always think back to when I was a student and what made me excited and what would make me excited to be at college for the first time."

The university will hold Rec Fest featuring the grand opening of its new recreation athletic turf field on Sunday.
