Fox 40 Goes to Camp: Warriors working hard for big season

Let's stick with the valley and talk Chenango. Last year the Warriors won only two games but that's because a lot of the team was young and inexperienced. With two key seniors leading the offense, CV is looking to make a difference in class B.

Senior Quarterback Mark Mullins and running back Nick Pert lead the offense this season but that wasn't the issue last season. last year the defense gave up an average of 37 points a game and injuries really hurt this team. Now with JV players moving up and more leadership in the locker room, Warrior Nation looks to strike again.

"I feel like they are working hard right now and I don't really feel like there's any real superstars necessarily but there are some real solid players on this squad," said Coach Jay Hope.

"We just want to bring the tradition back to Chenango Valley football that was in the past that we did make sectionals and made a run and were competitive in every game that we were in," said Mark Mullins, Senior Quarterback.

"We have been putting in a lot of work in the off season. Not only in the weight room but a lot, just working on foot work and the little things," said Nick Pert, Senior Running Back.

CV takes on Norwich in Week One and then host Windsor in Week Two to start their season.
