22-million dollars in overtime. That is how much it cost to catch David Sweat and Richard Matt, according to the Associated Press.
The pair of killers escaped June 6th from the Clinton Correctional Facility in Dannamora, New York. The AP looked at June & July payroll records for the Corrections Department and State Police.
The manhunt lasted 23 days. Matt was killed on June 26th and Sweat captured two days later two miles from the Canadian border. Sweat was serving a life sentence for killing Broome County Sheriff's Deputy Kevin Tarsia in 2002.
