Bearcats confident in Moewes

A week ago, Fox 40 reported that BU Goalkeeper Robert Moewes had been named to the Hermann Trophy watch list. The Hermann Trophy is the highest individual honor in college soccer. While that honor is nice, he has to earn the award by performing well on the field. As far as the Bearcats are concerned, that shouldn't be a problem because they're confident in his abilities.

"The goalkeeper is similar to an air traffic controller: they make one mistake and it affects thousands of lives," said Paul Marco, BU head coach entering his 14th year. "Robert prides himself in that position and knowing that frame of mind and knowing that mindset is wonderful. The guys obviously have a tremendous amount of confidence in him."

"The most pressure comes from myself so, I try to get better every day," Moewes said. "If I'm on the list, that's great, if I'm not, I'll try to get on it. That's all I'm doing, I'm trying to get better and obviously the list is a great motivation."

BU begins the season on the road in Columbus, OH against Wright State as part of the Bert & Iris Wolstein Classic on August 28th.
