Field changes expected to come for DSGO

As of now, the field for the 2015 Dick's Sporting Goods Open has not changed since it was announced in mid-June. However, Tournament Director John Karedes expects several additions in the next few days. He's waiting to hear whether or not some players plan to commit, most notably Tom Kite and Colin Montgomerie.

"Now is the time, the players on the Champions Tour are off this week," Karedes said. "They're adjusting their schedules, they're tweaking their schedules. But I expect somewhere in the neighborhood of 7-10 players coming into our field, so it's going to be one of the best on the Champions Tour yet again."

In Montgomerie's case, he planned on going on vacation with his family and forego the Dick's Open, but that could be costly. He currently leads the Schwab Cup points standings but that lead could disappear if he doesn't come to En-Joie. The next four players chasing him are Jeff Maggert, defending DSGO champ Bernhard Langer, Marco Dawson, and Kevin Sutherland, will all be competing in this year's DSGO and if Monty doesn't play, they could all pick up substantial ground. Maggert currently sits 166 points behind Montgomerie with Langer 445 points back.
