En-Joie transforming into Champions Tour ready course

If you want to play a round of golf at En-Joie, you have until Saturday to do so as the course will close next week in preparation for the 2015 Dick's Sporting Goods Open. Don't expect your round this week to be quiet and peaceful, but rather interrupted by hammers and drills as the bleachers, tents, and sky boxes are being assembled throughout the course.

Every year the assembly appears easier because of the experience by the tournament staff, however, every year presents different challenges and obstacles. One thing helping out this year is the cooperative weather.

"Everything has gone well, but mother nature is the controlling factor," said Tournament Director John Karedes. "You get one or two rainy days where they can't put up tents or can't put up structures, certainly it throws everything behind and we have a deadline. We've got to be ready for fans coming through the gate on Monday, August 24th. So, as long as mother nature keeps cooperating, I think we're in good shape."

Karedes said this year's big change from a structural stand point is the addition of new sky boxes.

Tournament play begins August 28th.
