The New York Jets suffered a big blow in training camp on Tuesday as starting quarterback Geno Smith will miss 6-10 weeks after suffering a broken jaw as the result of a locker room brawl. Head Coach Todd Bowles said Smith was "cold cocked" and "sucker punched" by LB Ikemefuna "IK" Enemkpali. Bowles added that Enemkpali's behavior was unacceptable and that he has since been released.
Smith will have to undergo surgery to repair the broken jaw. He already took to Instagram, posting a selfie with the caption "I'll be back."
Former Bills QB Ryan Fitzpatrick is the Jets backup play caller and will take over starting duties until Smith's return.
