JC Middle School Hosts Mase Madness

Lovers of basketball came together this weekend to support a child who lost his life.

Johnson City Middle school wrapped up the 4th annual Mase Madness Tournament.

The tournament is named after Mason Pierre McKan who lost his life as a result of Sudden Infant Death Syndrome at just six and a half months old.

The tournament incorporated a variety of events like a silent auction, basket raffle among other entertainment.

Mother Kate McKan said, "Before we know it we got 36 teams playing, we've got 120 baskets to raffle, we just have a really great time here. We're already being asked when next year we are doing the Mase Madness 5 and they are words to my heart."

Last years event raised more than $12,000.

The donations assist under priveleged children with scholarships to bx player development.
