A Room to Heal for a Whitney Point Boy

By Fox 40 Staff.
A boy from Whitney Point now has amenities that will darken his room in order to lighten the load of a serious illness.

Today 9-year-old Connor Stanton, who suffers from Neurofibromatosis, a disease that causes tumors to form on nerve tissue received a room makeover from the Room to Heal foundation.

The organization installed a light fixture with a dimming switch and room-darkening curtains to help ease his frequent migraines. There's also new carpeting and furniture, as well as decor reflecting his love of the outdoors and fishing.

"I'm really glad that they took the time just to do this room for me. It was really amazing that they did that," said 9-year-old Connor Stanton.

"Regardless of what they have going on medically, they're all still kids. You know, fun to work with and always excited about everything," said Director of Visual Communications and Technology for A Room to Heal Laura Sehn.

A Room to Heal is a local non-profit organization with the mission of creating healing environments in the homes of children affected by serious medical conditions. They have completed more than 60 room makeover projects in the community.
