USGLL National Championship Comes to Johnson City

Young golfers took to the greens today at Traditions at the Glen to compete for a National Championship.

The players and their families, including some from California, came to Johnson City this week for the USGLL National Championship Golf Tournament. This is the seventh year of the tournament and the fifth year it's been here in the Southern Tier. Kids ages 8 to 14 play in a team format which allows them to play 18 holes a day for four days.

USGLL National Championship Director, Rob Warholic said, "Well right now it's the only golf little league event in the country and to be able to have it at a resort like Traditions is truly amazing. The kids love coming here the love waking up golfing and they love going to bed golfing and then come out here and compete on a championship level course is awesome."

There was another thrill for the golfers - some threw out the first pitch at Wednesday nights B-Mets game.
