Jewish Community Center Golf Tourney Raises Money For Good
It's a great time to hit the golf course and some got to do it for a good cause. The Jewish Community Center held its 20th annual golf tournament at the Vestal Hills Country Club.
The tournament is one of the JCC's largest fundraisers bringing in anywhere from $10,000 to $15,000 dollars each year. The money goes towards supporting families that can't afford to pay the full costs for their child-care programs.
Chair of the JCC Golf Tournament Mark Walker said, "We have great sponsors and people that have given us prizes, and then people who have come to play on a week day which is a nice thing. We enjoy them and we have great weather today, so we're enjoying that as well."
The JCC is open to everyone regardless of their ability to pay. The group says it allocates $180,000 in assistance to families in need annually.
