Crouch Won't Run for Vacant Senate Seat

One day after Binghamton Mayor Rich David said he will not run for the vacant senate seat formerly held by Tom Libous, another prominent Republican said he is not running as well.

Assemblyman Cliff Crouch said he has been approached by a number of his constituents. but, in a statement to Fox 40 Monday afternoon he said:

"I will continue to fulfill the duties of my current office to the best of my ability, for as long as my constituents will have me, as well as continue to spend time with my grandchildren.

It takes a lot of commitment and time to get to know constituents as a newly elected representative and there's an expectation and obligation that their senator will be there for them for a while, and I regret that I cannot give them that commitment at this time."
