Medical Marijuana Company Collaborates with Cannabis Expert, Hopes for Southern Tier Jobs

A Syracuse-based medical marijuana company looking to manufacture their product in the Southern Tier is teaming up with a well known Cannabis Genome Mapping expert.
Salus Scientific Announced Dr. M Flint Beal will serve on the company's advisory board--backing the company. The company hopes the addition will bolsters it's bid with the state. Salus Scientific is one of the 43 businesses vying for five cannabis dispensary licenses in New York.
The company is eyeing a warehouse in Johnson City as a production facility along with another site in Vestal -- both becoming dispensaries.

Binghamton University's new pharmacy school would also be used for research and development.

The CEO of Salus Scientific says shes glad to have such a well known neurologist on the team..

CEO of Salus Scientific Nicole Ruvo Falcone said, "He truly is just a leader of neurology and were just so excited that hes agreed and happy to be a part of the Salus Scientific team.

Medical marijuana is legalized in New York.
If the Syracuse-based company's plan gets state approval it could bring as many as 200 new jobs to the area and new research for BU's future School of Pharmacy.
