Southern Tier Swimmers Compete in Endicott

What a perfect time to hit the pool and that's just what hundreds of swimmers from all over New York are doing but in the name of competition.

This weekend UNAC, or the Union Aquatic Club, held their 42nd annual Outdoor Sertoma Swim Meet at Endicott's North Side pool.

More than 200 swimmers from all over New York State came out to the swimming competition. Awards were given to individual winners and winning teams.

"Swimming is a lifetime sport. You can keep doing it long after your days of high school and college. It' a great way for people to stay in shape and stay active. This is something that it's a lifetime event, you keep doing it forever," said President of UNAC Michael Richeda.

Proceeds from the event benefit UNAC which is a non-profit organization that provides a year-round competitive swimming program.
