"I'm Dope Without Dope" Holds Community Awareness Event at Highland Park

Basketball, baseball and barbecue.

An organization heads to the park raising awareness about the heroin epidemic.

I'm Dope Without Dope hosted "Community Awareness in the Park" at Highland Park in Endwell.

The kid-friendly event was free for the community and included, food, music raffles and even a celebrity softball game featuring some of Fox 40's news crew.
The main focus, however, was to educate the community on ways to diminish the drug epidemic in our region.

"It's just beautiful, like every person that shows up, any person that comes here that gathers knowledge; it just shows that the cause is helping out in some sort of way. And it shows a lot of community unity, so that's the key. Everybody that comes out here is just showing that they're taking one proactive step towards trying to help out this cause," said Co-Founder of "I'm Dope Without Dope" Joseph Gonzalez.

"I'm Dope Without Dope" will be hosting a golf tournament in August and a variety of events throughout September, which is National Recovery Month.
