Crews Remove Vehicles from JC Collapsed Parking Deck
Clean-up crews remain on scene clearing debris from the UHS Wilson Campus Picciano North Parking Deck after it collapsed Thursday. Officials say most of the vehicles have been removed.
Sunday crews worked to remove the cars on the lower deck. Officials also say clean-up crews are working with car owners and insurance companies while removing vehicles.
There is still no word on why the deck collapsed however, a spokesperson for UHS has confirmed that a full assessment of the collapsed parking deck was completed in June of 2013 and all safety and structural recommendations were completed in 2014.
According to officials the investigation into the collapse could take several weeks or even months.
As of right now access to Baldwin street is limited until further notice.
