Western New York Team headed to Babe Ruth World Series

The Babe Ruth World series is coming to Jamestown, New York and a 13 and under team from Ithaca is practicing to bring home the title.

This group of players have been together for 5 years and the core nine players have been together since they were 8 years old.

Last year, this team played 82 games on their schedule and that experience will help them get them to the final game in this years tournament.

"The greatest thing you can say is there are only 10 teams in the country that go to the World Series every year. So there are 52 states, you can do the math on that. We are very fortunate to get the opportunity to play. So this is the highest level that our group could ever achieve," said Heac Coach Jim Merod.

"I think it's pretty cool because not many people have this experience and since our team is one of them, I think it's pretty special," said Third Baseman Andrew Alise.

Their first game is August 15th against the southeast team and coach said for the next few weeks the team will be working on the little details to ensure they come home as champs.
