Playoff push needs to begin now for B-Mets

The top two teams in each division make the Eastern League Playoffs. If the season ended at the All-Star Break, the B-Mets would be on the outside looking in. They begin the unofficial start of the second half in third place in the Eastern Division, 2.5 games out of first place and a half game behind Reading for second place.

If the B-Mets want to make another run at an Eastern League Title, a playoff push needs to begin sooner rather than later.

"It's all about giving it our all these last 40 games, the month and a half we have left and it's important," said B-Mets Manager Pedro Lopez. "I think tonight is the biggest game we have. We have to make sure we play well and even if we don't win, I think by us playing well we're going to send a message to everyone that what happened last year and what's happened to this point this year it's not by mistake."

B-Mets host the Trenton Thunder Thursday at 6:35.
