Senior Citizens Compete in Sunshine Olympics

Dozens of senior citizens competed Wednesday in the Sunshine Olympics.

The competition was at United Methodist homes. Seniors from six different facilities were able to compete in two different events both putting and bowling.

Joan Stearns who came in second place in the frisbee toss last year, says the games break up the routine and lets her enjoy the company of friends.

"It's really nice to know that we've got our place backing us up and the different people that live here backing us up. It makes you feel that you're wanted," said participant Joan Stearns.

Medals were awarded to the top competitors and everyone was awarded a root beer float.
