Broome DA Criticizing Cuomo Police Plan

Broome County's District Attorney calls Governor's Cuomo's order for handling police related deaths of unarmed people
gravely flawed.

Gerald Mollen says it should have never been issued.

Cuomo appointed Attorney General Eric Schneiderman as special prosecutor to oversee the investigations.

The order also allows the special prosecutor to review cases where there is a question whether the civilian was armed and dangerous at the time of his or her death.

Mollen called the order ambiguous.

"Because of the uncertainties it creates in the legal process it certainly could endanger the safety of the community in the sense that you're not going to be able to effectively and lawfully prosecute an offender who deserves prosecution," said Mollen.

Mollen released a statement all New York's County prosecutors.

Mollen was recently named president of the statewide group that represents New York's District Attorneys.
