Endicott PD and Fire Department Compete in Upcoming Blood Drive

The Endicott Police and Fire Department are co-hosting a competing blood drive this week.

On Thursday, the Endicott Battle of the Badges Blood Drive will be held at the Endicott Fire Department on East Main Street.

The event is open to the public and participants will be asked to dedicate their blood donation to either the fire department or the police department.
The winning department will be awarded for saving the most lives.
The event is hosted by the American Red Cross and is held in honor of fallen heroes.

"It's basically just showing that we show our support for the community. It's a big drive for the Red Cross and it should help out a lot of people. Donating of blood is a necessity in our community. It's needed for people who are in emergency situations and it just helps out with everybody," said Endicott Police Sgt. Charles Hoffman.

The event will take place from 12 p.m. through 6 p.m. Binghamton will also hold a battle blood drive the same day, competing against Endicott.
Their drive will take place at the Binghamton Fire Department on West State Street.
