One woman is dead and one man is arrested after a motor vehicle -- motorcycle collision in the Town of Marathon.
Saturday, just after 5:30 p.m, New York State police say 42-year-old Christopher Tanner was driving while under the influence on Route 11 when northbound he crossed into the southbound roadway and struck a motorcyclist identified as 49-year old Shannon Nasoni.
Nasoni was airlifted to Upstate Medical Center in Syracuse where she was later pronounced dead. Tanner was arrested for DWI, his blood alcohol content was determined to be .21 percent. Tanner was charged with vehicular manslaughter, aggravated DWI and failure to keep right.
He was arraigned in the Town of Marathon Court and remanded to the Cortland County Jail without bail.
