Community Members Take Part in Sacred Heart Ukrainian Festival
Festivities are wrapping up for the annual Sacred Heart Ukrainian Festival. Hundreds came out for the second and final day of the church's Ukrainian Festival in Castle Creek.
The festival exhibits the culture of Ukrainians through traditional dances, festive music, ethnic foods like pryohy and kobasa. Vendors also sold unique Ukrainian items and arts, crafts and games were available for all ages.
"First of all, it gives me an opportunity to show my pride, who I am. So it's good," said Town of Dickinson Resident Lubomyr Zobniw, "And when you know something about your heritage, everyone is benefitting. And when you're sharing it in particular. Right now, this is our opportunity to represent."
The event helped to raised thousands of dollars which will aid in financial assistance for the church.
