B-Mets want two series wins before All Star Break

It's been a rough go of things lately for the Binghamton Mets. In their last five series, they've lost four and split one. Tuesday night's 7-0 win over New Britain put them back on the right side of .500 and a win Wednesday would secure that first series win since sweeping Portland in the June 16-18 set.

It's not exactly a must-win for the B-Mets, after all, there's still 59 games left in the season. But, sitting at 42-41 and third place in the division with the Rock Cats in town on a five game losing streak and then a four game set on the road with last place Portland before the All Star Break, now's about the best time for the B-Mets to climb the standings if they want to make a run at another Eastern League Title.

"We have to take advantage of that and we have to take advantage of Portland being the last place team," said B-Mets catcher Xorge Carrillo. "We have to take those. We have to win the games that we have to win. Going up to their place, I think it's a three or four game series, we have to take these two series, get a couple days off and start fresh and make another run."

"It's been up and down the whole season and I think we're due for a break here," said B-Mets Manager Pedro Lopez. "I think we're due to start playing some good baseball and if we do, I think we'll be in good shape. We've seen every team in the league already, we've seen 'em all. And we just need to make sure we play well."
