A pilot is recovering from his injuries after his plane crashed into a corn field near Oneonta.
State Police say the accident happened last night just after 8:00. Authorities say the pilot, Edward Schoene, 55 of Springfield Center had experienced engine trouble after taking off from Oneonta Municipal Airport. He then landed the airplane in a corn field off of South Martindale Road. He was transported to Bassett Hospital in Copperstown. The FAA has been contacted and will be investigating the accident.
