Binghamton Business Expansion Could Lead to More Jobs

The expansion of a small business in Binghamton could lead to more than a dozen new jobs for the area.

Roberts Stone has been in business since 2002. It mines and cuts flagstone, crushed stone, and other kinds of stone.

It is constructing a new building and buying equipment which will allow it to sell directly to regional wholesalers.

Joe Roberts, Owner of Roberts Stone said, "We had help from the BCIDA and from local people in town, miss Debbie Preston, Jim Finch, Chamber of Commerce, no everything is looking really well actually and we plan on expanding and creating more jobs for the Southern Tier and Broome County."

The company, which employs 17 people, says the expansion should allow it to add 16 jobs over the next three years.
