Fatal Fire Still Under Investigation

Still no word on the cause of a Town of Dickinson fire Wednesday night that claimed the life of a 45-year-old woman.

Christine Clark was pronounced dead upon arrival at Wilson hospital after being rushed from the fire at 127 Adams Street. The Broome County Coroner has determined the cause of death to be carbon monoxide inhalation.

Neighbors called 911 after seeing smoke coming from the residence.

Deputies received information that a person might be entrapped inside.

Deputies forced their way into the residence but were turned back by thick smoke and extreme heat.

Firefighters were then able to make their way into the home and found Clark in the bedroom.

She was the only person home at the time. The fire is still under investigation.
