What is Behind Disappearance of Otsego County Man?

By Fox 40 Staff.
Could there be sinister motives behind the disappearance of an Otsego County man? New York State Police say 31-year-old Yashiro A. Hamata, also known as Tyrell Avery Rogers, has been missing since June 16.

The Oneonta Star is reporting Hamata had testified recently at the Cooperstown trial of Jerry Grays, a man charged with trying to hire a contract killer to murder his estranged girlfriend. Grays was convicted in Otsego County Court of conspiracy to commit murder and criminal solicitation.

On June 18th troopers responded to a report of an unoccupied 1995 Gray Chrysler Cirrus, parked on Pat Farley Road in the Town of New Berlin. Police say Hamata owns the vehicle and may have last been in the area of Oneonta on June 16. Police say Hamata has a tattoo on his left arm of the initials “KOC” with red stars going down from the letters.

He also has a tattoo on his right inner forearm of a Japanese symbol for the word phantom. Anyone who has seen Hamata or has information is asked to call the New York State Police at (607) 561-7400
