Army Study Could Better Protect Against Floods

The U.S. Army may be one step closer to coming up with a comprehensive flood mitigation study for the Susquehana River Basin.

According to Senator Charles Schumer the Army Corps of Engineers has included $600,000 to identify the best ways to protect the flood-prone Susquehanna River Watershed Region. Schumer says this study is the first step to a plan that could provide better flood protection for the Southern Tier. Schumer is asking the Army for a timeline for the implementation of the study.
