A Broome County Official Leaving Post For New Career Opportunity

Brett Chellis is leaving his position as Director of the Office of Emergency Services after nine years in the role. He is taking a position with the New York State Division of Homeland Security of Emergency Communications in Albany. Friday is Chellis' last day. On Thursday, he recognized many of his colleagues.

Brett Chellis said "What I'm proud of working with is the team, it wasn't something as Debbie said that I did alone, Its about having people surrounding you that have skills and abilities and just working together to solve problems."

Before his position with the county, Chellis served as Fire Chief of the Port Crane and Endwell Fire Departments. EMS Coordinator Ray Serowik is taking over on an interim basis.
