Two newest members inducted into Seton Hall of Fame

Wednesday was a night to remember for Bob Salankiewicz and Joe Slavik. Both are graduates are Seton Catholic Central and the two newest members of the school's Athletic Hall of Fame.

Salankiewicz, Class of '81, was an All-STAC Selection in Basketball and was named Most Valuable Player by the Binghamton Press in both basketball and baseball. His junior year, he led the basketball team to the Section IV Finals and the same year, led the baseball team to a STAC Championship. He played his college ball at SUNY Potsdam, participating in five national championships, winning twice.

Slavin, Class of 2010, was a three time All-American at Cortland for lacrosse and led the Red Dragons to the NCAA Semi-finals in 2013. As a senior at Seton, he led the team's offense to a 19-0 record and a Section Championship.

The Induction Dinner precedes the Don Hengel Memorial Golf Classic. The tournament brings local and national sports celebrities together with the community to benefit the Catholic Schools of Broome County.

Tournament play begins Thursday at 10:00am at Traditions.
