Tioga Baseball had best season in 30 years

The high school sports season is finally over but that doesn't mean we can't stop talking about next season and the great teams that hope to be back in the state tournament run.

This year, the Tioga Tigers baseball team reached the Class C State semifinal but were no hit by Blake Phelps and Geneseo in a 10-0 loss. Now this team finished with a 19-3 record and won the Section 4 title and state quarterfinal game easily with great offensive fire power. The tigers have a lot of players coming back so maybe you'll see Tioga back in this position next year.

"Well you hope you are but you never know. I mean, I told the kids to enjoy this run because just to get to the sectional championship and win that and then to get to the regional, you never know when it's going to come again but I think we are in good shape. We have a lot of young players coming up and this gives us some motivation for next years, said Bob Seymour, Tigers Head Coach.

Senior Starting Pitcher Peter Simmons will graduate as the school's all-time leader in wins.
