Vestal Students Have Show and Tell Across the World

Kids in Vestal enjoyed some show-and- tell with students half a world away on Wednesday.

Third graders at Vestal Hills Elementary skyped with fourth graders from India asking questions ranging from what do you eat to how much electricity they have. It was all part of a program from One World Classroom. The organization in Boston allows students to communicate, share artwork and learn from other kids across the world.

Third grade teacher, Patricia Giovannone said, "What better way to learn about other communities than to make some sort of personal connection with them. I didn't want to have them read about it in textbooks, I wanted them to be able to experience it rather than learn it."

Vestal students are currently working on videos of their typical school day to share with their new friends in India.
