"Mudcat" Grant Golf Tournament Back in September

By Fox 40 Staff.
Former big leaguer Jim "Mudcat" Grant will be back in the area for his 14th annual all star golf tournament this September.

This year the event will continue to benefit local veterans along with the Boys and Girls Club, the Broome County Urban League, and several other local charities.

Jim "Mudcat" Grant is a former major league baseball player who first organized the tournament. He is a member of the "Black Aces" a group of African-American Major League baseball pitchers who won 20 or more games in a single season.

Jim "Mudcat" Grant said, "We not only have one charity but we have five charities and sometime we can add more if we raise enough money. We enjoy doing that and Binghamton enjoys us, that's why it works so well."

The tournament will take place Thursday, September 3rd at the Links at Hiawatha Landing.
