Wedding Works Owner: I Didn't Abandon My Business

The owner of the Wedding Works bridal salon in Endicott says business problems are the reasons she has not been in the Washington Avenue store.

Starting Wednesday, brides and their families were told by the former owner that Amanda Janicki was nowhere to be found.

Janicki says she never left town but told FOX 40 News she wasn't allowed to enter store because she defaulted on the contract with the store's former owner, Hope Moyer.

Janicki said she had a rent-to-own agreement for the business.

Janicki also says she plans on refunding as many of her customers as she can.

"A lot of them are being really understanding. I am being helpful and answering their questions as to what's going on because a lot of people are saying things just weren't adding up. It's true, they're not. As far as going into the Wedding Works I would just make sure you get the confirmation orders and everything," said Janicki.

Beginning Wednesday, word spread quickly though social media that Janicki was unreachable. The store's facebook page had been taken down as well as her personal page. Brides panicked when they arrived to the store and were told by the former owner that Janicki abandoned the business.

Janicki says affected brides-to-be can contact her via email at ajanicki19@gmail.com or search her on Facebook under Amanda lee Abrams.
