By CNN Wire Service. (CNN) -- Authorities received information that a pair of convicted murderers who escaped from an upstate New York prison believed "New York was going to be hot and Vermont ... cooler in terms of law enforcement" and may have headed there, Vermont Gov. Peter Shumlin said Wednesday. Law enforcement personnel along the Vermont-New York border are involved in the massive manhunt. Richard Matt, 48, and David Sweat, 34, escaped Saturday from the Clinton Correctional Facility, a maximum-security prison in Dannemora, New York.
