Day 9: Forensic Pathologist Testifies in Calvin Bell Trial
Day 9 of the Calvin Bell trial continued in Broome County Court. The jury heard testimony from the forensic pathologist who performed the autopsy on Bretnie Owens.
Bell is charged with murdering Owens while robbing his Binghamton apartment in June of 2013.
Dr. James Terzian testified that the cause of death in Bretnie Owens was chest compression which caused loss of consciousness and no breathing to the body. After the prosecution rested it's case to the jury, the defense called phone records specialist Les Hyman.
He testified that he has examined the phone records of the witnesses involved in the case and created a timeline of records before and after the death of Owens on June 15th. Defense witnesses will continue to testify Tuesday at 10 AM. The jury could get the case tomorrow afternoon.
