Maine-Endwell Fundraiser Benefits Scholarships

Maine-Endwell students are showing off their musical talents at a fundraising barbecue.

Sunday, more than eight hundred chicken dinners were sold at the Maine-Endwell Music Boosters' annual chicken barbecue to fund Maine-Endwell music programs.

Throughout the event 12 district music groups like the Homer Brink fourth grade chorus, Middle School sixth grade band, middle school chorus and the high school orchestra put on performances.

"We believe music is a very important part of a child's education. That a child who is involved in music is a well-rounded child and someone who learns perseverance, discipline, focus; a lot of good life skills by participating in a music program," said President of M-E Music Boosters Dawn Dimock.

Proceeds are expected to reach more than $2,000 which will go towards things like the Boosters' scholarship funds and food for traveling performances.
