State Attorney Sues College Network After College Scam
State Attorney General Eric Schneiderman is suing a company named the College Network, saying it duped prospective nursing students across the state into buying expensive, ineffective study guides and academic assistance.
The Attorney General's office says as many as 2,000 nursing students in the state working toward associate degrees fell victim. Schneiderman claims the College Network created a false impression that it was offering online nursing degrees and that it was affiliated with excelsior college, an accredited school offering such degrees. The Attorney General's office says in many cases students spent more than $10,000 on the college network's services.
