Papastrat Announces Re-Run for Binghamton City Council, 5th District
Republican Chris Papastrat is running for re-election to Binghamton City Council.
Papastrat represents the city's fifth district on the south side.
He made the announcement Tuesday at the Park Diner, which he has co-owned with his brother for almost 40 years. Papastrat says his priorities are stabilizing the tax base and public safety.
He points to his work to help bring private development to the former Greenman Senior Center and the corner of State and Court streets.
"(I'd like to) work to improve the infrastructure, public safety, stabilizing the tax base, working on a budget. These are all things that need to be done and I want to be there to do that," said Papastrat.
According to the Broome County Democratic Party, a democrat will run against Papastrat. The party plans to announce who that candidate will be shortly.
