Students OK after School Bus/Minivan Head-On Crash

Twelve students are safe after a head-on collision between a minivan and a school bus Tuesday morning.

Officials say 17-year-old Katarina Stockton lost control of her dodge caravan mini van on Smith Hill Road and entered the oncoming lane, colliding with a Harpursville school bus. The driver of the bus, Cindy Wilcox was transporting the twelve high school students to BOCES.

The students were evaluated at the scene by ambulance personnel and none were injured. Wilcox and Stockton were both transported to area hospitals--Wilcox complaining of neck and back pain, and Stockton with minor injuries. Stockton told officials her brakes felt funny just prior to the accident...she was issued various tickets to appear in the Town of Chenango court.
