Town of Union Fire Crews Respond to House Fire Explosion

Two adults, a child, and one dog are okay after a single family home on Pearl Street in Endwell caught fire around 9:48 PM Sunday Evening.

State Police were first on the scene and they saw the flame burning on the roof along with power lines down.

Responding agencies included Endwell, Union Center and Endicott fire departments.

Tom Palazzo, Assistant Chief of the Endwell Fire Department said this was a 2nd alarm fire and it will most likely be a total loss. Right now, it is too early to tell which floor the fire originated from but there was heavy fire coming from the front porch.

In regards to the explosion first reported earlier in the night, Palazzo stated that it was multiple "popping noises" caused by pressurized things letting off gas.

We will let you know more information as it becomes available.
