Local Company Holds Free Community Party

An anniversary party gets underway and the entire community is invited.
Tioga Opportunities is celebrating their 50th anniversary and invited locals to a free community party.

The company's mission is to help advance locals by providing them with the proper resources for success and self-sufficiency.
More than 450 people came out to the event which included free food, bowling and hula-hooping, vendors, and a bike parade.
There was also a quilt raffle to help raise money toward the corporation's programs.

"In this day and age, when a lot of folks are struggling in different aspects of our economy, I think it means a lot to the folks in the community, the residents of Tioga County, to say hey, here's something that isn't going to cost you anything. Here's a day of fun, good clean fun," said Community Services Director for Tioga Opportunities Inc. Andrew Hafer.

On June 18th Tioga Opportunities Incorporated will hold a fundraiser with Doug's Fish Fry at Everybody's Bulk Food Market in Owego to help fund future programs.
