The former treasurer of a local volunteer fire department is sentenced to 5 years probation for stealing money from the department.
Last May, Terry Gow pleaded guilty to grand larceny after stealing approximately $30,000 from the Glen Aubrey Fire Company. Gow's sentence is contingent on her paying $50,000 to the fire company by Tuesday, June 2nd.
Judge Martin Smith says if that money is not paid, Gow will be sentenced to time in state prison.
Smith said, "I want that fire department restored, because I want that community restored back to the place they were before you showed up and went to work for them."
Prior to sentencing Gow apologized to the Glen Aubrey Fire Company and community. She assured the judge she would pay the money back.
