Jury Is Selected in Calvin Bell Trial

The jury has been selected in the trial of Calvin Bell, a Binghamton man accused of second degree murder and felony counts of robbery in June of 2013.
It took three groups of eighteen prospective jurors to decide on the final twelve.
On June 15th 2013, Bell and Nigel Smith are accused of breaking into 44-year-old Bretnie Owens' home on Stone Street and causing his death while committing a robbery.
Opening statements will begin Wednesday morning in Broome County Court at 9:30 AM.
Nigel Smith is set to stand trial next month.
