Binghamton's Memorial Day Parade Held on Court Street
In Binghamton, residents came down to Court Street to celebrate Memorial Day.
The annual parade started at 2:00 this afternoon at American Legion Post 80 at 76 Main Street.
The parade featured groups such as the Binghamton High School Pep Band, Daughters of the American Revolution, and Vietnam Veterans of America.
Broome County Commander Bert Proper of the American Legion said that today's soldiers receive a lot of support.
"For me it's a day to honor those who have fallen and given their ultimate sacrifice to our country. It's not a day of cookouts it's a time to get our and thank a veteran, comradery those sort of things," said Bert Proper the Broome County Commander.
Following this afternoon's parade there was a flag raising ceremony to honor fallen veterans.
