Ann's Hope 5K Raises More than $1,000

Saturday more than 75 people gathered at Otsiningo Park for the third annual Ann's 5K and Team Hope Walk.

The walk raises awareness for Huntington's Disease and to support the services of the Huntington's Disease Society of America...

Huntington's Disease is a fatal genetic disorder that affects mental and physical abilities, and currently there is no cure.

"I love some people who have Huntington's disease and so I really pray and I hope that there will be a cure someday. And I just think with this kind of outreach and the excitement and hopefully raising money so they can do research hopefully there will be a cure someday." said Coordinator of Ann's 5K Sally Forbidussi.

"When I saw how many people heard about it, how many people care its very loving, very encouraging," said Huntington's patient Ann Tripp.

After the race there were refreshments, a basket raffle, and awards were given to winners of each age group.

More than $1,500 was raised towards the HDSA organization.
