Broome County Parks Open for Memorial Weekend

Memorial weekend marks the opening of parks across Broome County.

All County Parks will be open daily from now until Labor Day on September 7th from 8 a.m. to dusk -- at no charge.

Today marks the beginning of the 2015 summer season for the Broome County Parks, Recreation, and Youth Services Department.

Parks like Greenwood, Dorchester and Nathaniel Cole parks offer activities including boating, hiking and concessions. Ammenities residents say they look forward to every year.

"I love coming to the parks its away from the city. It's quiet you can hear the nature, See other people enjoying and having fun I don't get to spend a lot of time with my family so it's best to come to the park, we can all get together because we all live all over the place," said Endicott resident Heather Hodge.
